Scott Powell, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 35 years of experience in Santa Monica, CA. Trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYU Langone, and was fellowship-trained at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. As team physician for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, Scott Powell, MD has cared for athletes at every level of competition — from weekend warriors to World Cup players.
Before medicine, Dr. Powell was a founding member of Sha Na Na, performing at Woodstock in 1969 and appearing in Grease and Caddyshack. The band played roughly 250 shows a year across four continents, and its television show aired in more than 35 countries. That same passion for performance — stage or operating room — drives his commitment to getting every patient back to their best.
